Podcast: Giving Even During the Tough Times

Despite everything you hear about Detroit's fiscal, housing, unemployment and crime woes to name a few, there are always people in the neighborhoods like Cordette Grantling.  When Dateline NBC decided to spotlight Detroit and its problems, she was one of the people featured.

Grantling has been taking in children who had nowhere to go for 25 years, she's also president of her local community group, and even looks out for kids that she's not raising. She spoke with TIME the morning after the broadcast to talk about how she sees Detroit.
