One year. One city. Endless opportunities.

Notes From the Auto Front

First, the good news: General Motors reported today it has repaid the $8.4 billion in loans it received from the U.S. and Canadian governments, ahead of schedule. The company also announced plans to invest some $257 million at plants in Michigan, Kansas and Virginia. Meanwhile, the White House released a report touting the auto industry's gains since the loans were made.

Now, the bad news: Chrysler reported it had lost some $4 billion since it emerged from bankruptcy protection last summer. Chrysler's financial statements are here and here.

Here's the full White House report.

    YES....Congrads to GM.
I own a GM and will always buy AMERICAN. I have owned Buicks, Fords, and Cadillacs. Some Brand New.....others used, I am a car lover. American Car Lover !
As long as there is a car or any part thereof that is made in Detroit or America, I will own it.
As a Detroiter, I have many current and retired autoworkers as friends and family. Perhaps this is the glimmer of hope Detroit needs
Chrysler, don't be discouraged. Lee Iacocca helpped you out before and I am sure he is routing for you now. As well as others praying and buying your cars, your day is in sight.
Again, congradulations are in order for all the hard work of out autoworkers and connected industries.
    Keek up the good work.
