Ice House Coming to a City Near You
Well, the math doesn't add up, but the Ice House Detroit project is a go.
The project's Kickstarter Web site shows that $11,000 was raised successfully. (Although if you calculate how much everyone gave, some miracle must have occurred to make it happen.) No update from the guys doing the project; my emails went unanswered.

Karen Dybis and her continuous pessimism seems to be the perfect reflection for Time's perspective on anything positive in Detroit. I have been following this project for over two months and strangely, this is the only writer that has nothing good to say about it.

The ice house sucks. The Belle Isle ice tree beat it to the concept years go, and it's a colossal waste of money that could've been spent on something worthwhile other than the whims of self-indulgent, pretentious self-aggrandizing "artists".
